I usually get the 200 pack of either the photo paper, or the laminate sheets just to limit the times I need to buy material, it just helps. Also, you can get sherr foil paper, and a Dahle 508 Rotary cutter (cheaper budget option one) to cut and print foils with. Here are the links for those. Trial and error, and you will make mistakes and that is totally okay. The hardest adjustment for me was learning how to use the silhouette, properly. I learned everything I know from cry cry, all the credit goes to him. He has made an in-depth video explaining how he does everything, I would heavily advise listening to the silhouette portion. I'm sure you're aware just by reading the thread, it will cost about $1,000 for equipment (only once) and $300 for materials to consistently print cards. But you can print in my experience, anywhere from 2000 to 5000 cards (20-50 decks) depending on print/ink quality, before needing to replace materials. The $300 in materials is more from the paper and laminating sheets you'll need, versus the ink. You only need the ink once in that $300. You'll need several packs of paper/lamination sheets. Overall, the money you'll save is insanity. Especially if you're an avid magic The gathering player. Or any TCG, proxxied and other proxy sites, have so many options to print so many different types of games. This sky is truly limitless for this! I have discounted myself and friends of mine around $20k from the cards I've printed, as the real cards would of costed that amount... and now have access to playing (we play casual we don't encourage playing proxies competitively or selling of course/ tricking people into thinking they're real) and the 20k is in about 3 months time. The interesting decks we can build, the over powered ones the secret lairs we don't have to compete with scalpers for... It's WORTH IT.
