I use different things, water-soluble, solid/slow-release and organics. Water-soluble fertilizers are the fastest-acting and are great in a situation like this. Any general fertilizer will likely be fine in a pinch, something like 20-20-20 or similar. Even better, something with the 2nd and 3rd numbers higher than the first, like a 4-8-6 or similar. Last summer I started using these 2 for water-solubles and like them: All purpose 16-16-16 and bloom 4-26-26. I use a higher proportion of the all-purpose in late spring when they grow the fastest, then about 50-50 mix most of the summer (that would average the numbers of both and make the equivalent of a 10-21-21), and more of the bloom in the fall when things start to slow down. I like that this all-purpose has a mostly urea as N source, it really seem to trigger more pupping and doesn't burn the plants if you go overboard a little... But again, no need to overthink this, most commercial fertilizers will work decently well even if not ideal. The fertilizers designed for tomatoes tend to be particularly good because they typically have good ratios of N-P-K and more calcium. Most typical "cactus and succulents" fertilizers are not ideal alone because they don't have enough N for fast-growing Trichos. I have a "Cactus Juice" brand fertilizer that is 1-6-6 (but it has a good amount of calcium) that I bought when I started because it was highly discounted... but I use it mostly to feed rooting cuts the first few times, or in fall when growth has slowed down substantially.
