Your current light is 14.4 watts. On a 20 gallon tank, that’s 0.7 watts per gallon. https://www.sunkentreasureaquatics.com/guides/lights “THE 1-TO-1 RULE FOR A DECENT LIGHT” You just have a weak light, thus light not actually getting to your plants. Even hornwort which is an easy, low light plant, it’s not getting enough at 0.7. “THE 1-TO-2 RULE FOR A GOOD LIGHT” If your tank is a 20 gallon tall it’s 24” long If it’s a a 20 gallon long, it’s 30” long Either way, I’d get this fzone light 60 as it covers most/all of your tank. https://a.co/d/0hJRrhjW It’s $70 basically which is pretty cheap for a 36 watt light. This will get you to 1.8 watts per gallon and set you up for low and medium light plants. It is also app controlled and has an in built timer so you can dim it and set hours. If you had flex budget you can look into a week aqua l 600. Fertilizer if you can find Easy Green from Aquarium Coop from a local fish store, that’d be good. Also use osmocote pellets sparingly under your substrate as they’re cheaper than aquarium root tabs but provide basically the same.
