The current KA grinder (aluminum body) has three plates, one is finer than the original plastic body one that came with two. It’s a fine grind, but not quite paste IMO. The KA one cannot go into the dishwasher. As others mentioned a food processor is better if you’re trying to make paste. I got my folks a third party SS one off Amazon to replace their original plastic body KA one. I haven’t used it before, but they seem to like it. I was planning to get the same one, but the KA was only a few bucks more when I ordered my mixer. I figured I’ll pay a tad more for OEM. https://a.co/d/0f43GFPn
