Just to save some headache for anyone that goes down this route, I'll break down a couple things about antennas. There are two band types, UHF and VHF. What most antenna boxes don't say is that different ones support UHF better than VHF and vise versa. Basically VHF channels are any channel numbers below 14, and UHF are any at or above. So most antennas sold out here will pick up 14 WFIE without issue, but getting something like WEHT or the local PBS channels is going to be rough. The classic "rabbit ears" (longer polls) pick up VHF better, and the newer loops pick up UHF better (any flat or bar shaped antenna is a loop). For some very annoying reason very few antennas have both. Walmart has a very cheap Onn brand one that works quite well. Also, a lot of smart TVs can pull your local channels into the live TV section with a lot of free streaming channels too. I know that both Google TV and Fire TVs do, but you need an antenna for most local channels. You also have to pull up the settings and scan for channels the first time you connect one. TVs from about 10+ years ago ma have the antenna "locked", but the codes are usually online. That was a fun, exceptionally anti-consumer period for TVs. TL;DR: This $13 antenna will generally give you better reception than most other more expensive indoor antennas. The only way to go up from there is a larger attic or outdoor antenna.
