I personally went with a pair of these, Heltec ESP32 LoRa V4's with GPS and 3000mAh batteries. Loaded one with Meshtastic and the other with the "other platform" 😉 They were both fairly easy to put together and flash. I slapped some magnets on the back and mounted them side-by-side on a magnetic mount pad. The pad allows for easy magnetic mounting to a dash mount in my truck...
