Just get the Skull & Co Jumpgate Pro. The official dock will work, but it's not an exact fit for the Flip 2, making it a bit wobbly.

Here you go. An actual dock, unlike other suggestions that are actually just USB hubs:https://www.amazon.com/Skull-Co-Jumpgate-Pro-Detachable/dp/B0G12NN82K

P.S. For on TV play, you might also want invest in something like a dock, and in this absolute must-have gizmo. It's an all-in-one solution: keyboard, mouse, touch pad. Also handy for touch screen gaming, with all of Nintendo's devices. 😉 In case you're wondering: many things can be done with a wireless controller (I use GameSir Nova Lite controllers, by the way), but not everything, so to help with all the remote navigating, I bought that mini-keyboard. Far as I'm concerned, one of the best things I've ever bought. Dock options: Original Retroid dock.Skull & Co dock. And for both you will need a decent HDMI cable for on TV play, and the Retroid wall socket charger adapter.

Retroid Pocket 5 and 6 user here. Android console box: yes, through the ES-DE front end, with either the CoinOPS or PlayStation-X theme. No splitter, just a dock and full-sized HDMI cable. No USB-C to HDMI crap. Official dock, by the way. It's either that or the Jumpgate dock by Skull & Co. Either one of them combined with Retroid's official wall socket adapter. And remote controls/navigating partially done by a wireless controller (GameSir Nova Lite) and partially by this absolute must-have gizmo. It's an all-in-one solution: keyboard, mouse, touch pad. Also handy for touch screen gaming, with all of Nintendo's devices. 😉 All of that combined works perfectly for on the couch gaming. Oh, and I got tired of making dozens of controller profile variants for Wii games, so I got me a Dolphin bar and some genuine Nintendo Wii remotes as well. (the Dolphin bar doesn't like cheap knock-offs)

Although a hub will do the job of connecting your device, it is by no means a replacement for an actual dock. The official dock works just fine for the RP Flip 2, by the way, so I've no idea what sources you've gathered that info from. All I can say about that is don't believe everything you read online. Most complaints or issues are highly anecdotal at best. For every complainer, there's hundreds if not thousands satisfied customers out there, so it's basically just a very vocal minority. But just in case you're dead set on not wanting the official dock: a very good alternative is the Jumpgate Pro dock by Skull & Co, so you might want to check that out. And be sure to get a suitable wall socket adapter to go with that. The official adapter has been sold out for quite a while now, but this is a more than decent replacement with the exact same specs as the official one. Anyway, long story short: get a real dock, not some two-bit USB hub. 😉

That isn't a dock, it's just a cheap-ass hub. The description above the device even mentions this. A docking station should enable you to insert your RP6, just like you would do with a Switch. It's always better to have your handheld sitting in an actual dock instead of having it lying flat on its back, which makes the heat it generates go right back into the device. In a real dock, it wouldn't have such issues. Besides that, it's also missing an ethernet port, which a real dock does have, which might come in handy, if your wired internet is better than your wifi. Far as I'm concerned, these are the best options:- Official Retroid Dock (this was the obvious choice for me personally, seeing as it's the official accessory)- Savage Raven Skull & Co Dock

That is highly unlikely. I don't know where you've read that, but a dock, of any brand for that matter, is no more than a pass-through device for a charger and a display adapter, so it literally doesn't do anything other than that, making it all but impossible for it to have any negative effect. It would basically be the same as saying that plugging your charger cable into a wall socket adapter is going to make charging the Retroid Pocket slower than without the adapter, which is just as unlikely as the supposed dock issue. Any such 'evidence' is to be considered anecdotal at best. But if you're still not convinced at how silly this really is, you could always consider the Savage Raven dock by Skull & Co, which is also compatible with Retroid Pocket devices. Regardless of which dock you might be persuaded to consider, either one of them is a far better solution than letting the console lying flat on its back, hanging on a converter cable.
