I recommend getting one of these units from Amazon. Portable AC unit is not only going to pay for itself with the amount you save, by not having to go out to public places, just to be in a climate controlled environment. You will have that at home. It also makes your place more inviting, for anyone whose apartment is too hot, and didn’t think of getting one to fix it. Just make sure you get 12k or 14k BTU, so your unit can handle the extra body heat if you have guests over, and also allow you the ability to turn it off while you are out, without hesitating, because the extra cooling capacity will mean it takes very little noticeable time between getting home to a hot apt, turning it on, and feeling the relief of climate control, within just minutes, rather than 1+ hour(s).
