You're welcome. Yes you could remove bottom leaves and top off the soil. I would suggest a balanced water-soluble fertilizer. Something with the 3 numbers (N-P-K) being 10 or less. If it has trace minerals and such, all the better. But don't stress over it. Just don't exceed the manufacturer's recommended dose of any such products.
