I had good luck with Syngenta 68078 Advion Singular Tube Ant Gel Lure, 30g. Make sure pets can't get to it.
Use this and you will see all of them one day then the next they will be gone. This poisons the ants then they take the bait back to the colony and it kills the rest. Super effective. https://a.co/d/01HGldlh
That’s a carpenter ant. So it also eats your wood. Get Advion Ant Gel Bait it comes in a ready-to-dispense syringe. It will take several feedings but eventually they start bringing the dead bodies out as they die. But this gel bait works extremely well and will kill off the colony. $13 on Amazon https://a.co/d/0fNH54Lj
I had ant infestation multiple times over a 3 year span; to the point where I was having nightmares. Non stop madness; I wanted to move. I tried all of the typical recommended retail store products and home remedies. Those would slow them down...but they'd always come back stronger and smarter than the last time. The only product that literally made them vanish was something called Advion Ant Gel Lure. It's available through Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08C3PPYSV?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_49 Within days...gone. Absolute magic. A year or so later, they showed up in a completely different area of the basement. So I got the gel back out, put multiple dabs along their trail, sat back, watched them swarm the gel, and let them do their thing in peace (which is key). Hours later...boom. Completely gone, and they never came back. That was 6 or so months ago; I haven't seen an ant since. Apparently, a lot of products and remedies don't give the workers enough time to bring the poisonous stuff back to their queen. This gel lasts long enough for the entire colony to pass it around. So while this obviously doesn't solve the issue of HOW they're getting in from outside in the first place...the gel would at least have you covered for when they do. Edit: Grammar fixes.
