I think my book, The Onyx Throne, is right up your alley. The relationships grow slowly over time and he has to prove he is the kind of man that they need. It’s isekai and, while he was a competent guy on Earth (friendships, dated, decent job, even a family he was close to!) he has almost no skills that would help him survive in the new world. The girls like him well enough, but could not love him until he proved he could be what they needed. It wasn’t in any sort of ‘prove your worth by slaying this monster’ kind of way, just showing that he could handle the pressure, learn and adapt, and even begin to lead. And the girls have work to do as well if they were going to be worthy of his love for them. If you think that will scratch your particular itch, The Onyx Throne, books one and two are on KU.
My book, The Onyx Throne, is third person, and there are POV shifts between the MC, the LIs, and even the animal companion that shows up later in the book. It’s also been praised for its excellent characterizations, world building, and story line. The two LIs in book one are bi, and it remains to be seen if the LI in book two is. So it might be just what you’re looking for.
