So it just arrived and have limited experience but here goes. Remember I dont need or want this for phone use. Plugged the usb into the port and the 1/8 aux next to it. Blue light comes on in the unit. The Bluetooth adapter thingy is small. About 3" x 1.5" so it sits in the little space right under the ports. You cant even see it. Went to pair on my phone and it came right up and Pandora came through perfectly as did my music using Audify. I had read that the Bluetooth adapter sits in standby and draws a tiny amount of battery. People reported with another brand that the car would pick up the Bluetooth even if you were just walking down the driveway near the car. That doesnt seem to be the case with this. It came on when I flipped my start switch but not starting the car and when I shut the car down the Bluetooth adapter blue light flashed as if looking for a few seconds and then turned off. With the car switch in the off position .. the phone would not pair so either the Bluetooth adapter is designed to go off or that USB port is not powered unless the car is on. Either way .. I am happy it goes off. I didn't check if the steering wheel controls work playing music from my personal collection but will try tomorrow. It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me .. I am happy I can play music from my phone from either my collection or pandora and not have to deal with an aux cable and my phone in a phone holder in my cup holder in the way of my controls. I can simply pair it when I get in the car and chuck the phone in the door pocket. I dont know if ali links are allowed but I paid $8.13 but had some coins.
