I can confirm that the 36 pin works for 2016 Mazda 6. I just finished swapping it out. However, the reverse camera doesn't work at all now. I suspect if I unplug the 36 pin ribbon cable and leave it disconnected might solve the problem. Edit: Started the car after an hour. The rear view camera works now. No issues.
