I don't know how else to put it but if you want more traction then you don't want a tire with "race" or "xc" in the name. You want thicc bois. Maxxis Assegai front and DHR2 Rear, cant go wrong. You will not be short on grip. XC tires sacrifice grip for speed. Pros are good enough to make up for it, but the rest of us are not. maxxis assegai (front) maxxis dhr2 (rear) This or a dhf in the front is a "tried and true" and you will certainly have enough grip. There may be tires that are better for you but again, thats kind of personal preference which is why its good to ask your local bike shop. Another combo would be schwable albert front and magic mary rear. There are otherwise hundreds of tires but too hard to say what is available near you without talking with the local shops.
