I would reason your kid is young like mine. I've had this book "Weird and Wonderful Nature: Tales of More Than 100 Unique Animals, Plants, and Phenomena" (link below)... Tons of kid friendly and interesting animal facts. It for kids but it's also detailed and really informative. https://a.co/d/04uyqkRx
