My husband had rotator cuff surgery about 4 weeks ago. It's for his dominant hand. Get some shirts with snaps up the side. She won't want to pull anything over her head and jostle things too much, and with this it's so much easier to get the bad arm in first and then have someone do up the other side. I bought him two shirts to start, and now we're up to 5 just so I don't have to do laundry constantly. Get a size larger than what she would normally wear, so it is comfortable and has no chafing spots. My aunt had shoulder replacement surgery last summer, and I was her caretaker. So for women specifically: won't be able to get a bra on and secure it on the back. Either don't wear one at all, or get one which snaps in the front. Baby wipes. She's going to be unable to do a true shower on her own, but will want to freshen up. Get some baby wipes to take the edge off. Aerosol deodorant. She won't be able to move her arm out far enough to get a stick deodorant in there. Spritz an aerosol deodorant and call it a day.
