I put a rubber mat (https://a.co/d/0j81GICa) on the dash in front of the small upper screen on my '23. My phone goes there if it is plugged in. I use this now and only use cord when charging: https://a.co/d/01vBZFxY

Like others have said, replacing your USB cable will likely resolve this. I ended up buying this adapter for my '23. I love not worrying about a cable all the time. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FQ255VQ6

This is the one I'm using - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0FQ255VQ6 . The only issue I've had with it is the first time connecting, you can't already be connected to Wi-Fi, so I had to drive down the street to pair it the first time (so it wasn't on house Wi-Fi). After that it's worked every time.

Yes, and it has made the experience totally seamless. I love it. It was $15 on Amazon. https://a.co/d/0iI2I7bV
