This!! I'm autistic and it has helped me immensely. My therapist even got me a DBT book specifically for neurodivergent people! Just found the book on Amazon, this is the book my therapist gave me:https://a.co/d/0df9LYwb

I use positive self talk. I usually tell myself a basic slogan for the day over and over. So say I’m feeling really bad about myself I think in my head “I’m doing the best I can to make things good in my life.” If I feel upset cause something didn’t go as planned I tell myself “tomorrow is a new day.” I also listen to a positive song if I’m stressed. And I also think of the phrase “2 things can be true at the same time” almost everyday. It’s cause I tend to think in black and white and this is called finding the grey. So like if I’m sad or lonely I will tell myself “I’m feeling lonely but I have multiple people who care about me.” Or I get really upset sometimes that I feel like I didn’t get a full education growing up due to my disability and I’ll think “my parents did the best they could with the information they had at the time and I wish they had put an end to the seclusion and pain that school did to me.” I will say that it takes a while to start working the positive self talk so don’t give up and I will also say that dbt can be really helpful for this if you are someone who can think through it but it’s also one of those things that take what you need leave what you don’t. (Linking a workbook- https://a.co/d/01sCzf9r but you can look up the skills online for free but they also have dbt for neurodivergent people and that therapist I had was amazing I wish she didn’t move.
