I went your path when I first got my projector. I was terrible at painting so the paint lines and smudges would show and distract while watching a movie. I ended up spending more money and time trying to find/paint the right color vs just buying a fixed screen. I would highly recommend saving for a screen. The night and day difference of 3D movies when I finally got a fixed screen was heart breaking because I had spent so much time on paint lol If you really want a "budget alternative" while you save, I bought one of these to use at my church for movie projection nights and it is surprisingly not that bad. You just have to stretch it to no creases. Definitely better than paint.Projection Fabric Edit: make sure you pick the right size fabric of course XD
