For your phone, get a headphone adapter pigtail. it gives you a 3.5mm jack to plug into your phoneuse a 3.5mm TRS to RCA cable. Use the same cable for your laptop and your phone then. The other option is to get an external bluetooth receiver unit that you can plug into the receiver using RCA cables. ( I got one on amazon for about $15 and every device i own with bluetooth works on it) EXAMPLE ONLY

I had this same issue and had tried the same solutions (which had worked before but no longer did). The only way I was able to overcome this issue is by connecting my Apple TV to the stereo via a Bluetooth receiver. I chose one of the channels of the amplifier and connected the Bluetooth receiver to it and then connected the Apple TV to that Bluetooth receiver and cast the signal via Bluetooth. You have to reconnect it from time to time via the Settings menu (remotes & devices, Bluetooth), but it works like a charm. It also occasionally gets garbled with audio interference, but pausing the tv and waiting a minute usually fixes it.
