I’m sorry you guys are going through this, it seems to happen more and more over there. I also don’t know how I ran into the sub, but hopefully I can still offer some help. Once upon a time I got stuck in an extreme heat wave with no power for eight days. I lived in a little apartment with one window, but the window didn’t matter anyway, because the air was stagnant and there was no breeze. It was extremely miserable. A few things I did that helped: *I bought two dog cooling mats (not these specifically, just ones I found it a local pet store, but they’ll work the same)https://a.co/d/0fwsV04E *It was 40.56°C during the day, at night, it would only get down to 38.89° and the humidity was in the 90s, so there was no relief after dark but better than trying to sleep in my apartment was sleeping outside. I just went up to the roof and set up a canopy over me and laid on a cot on top of those cool dog beds. If I had a balcony, I would’ve obviously just stayed on the balcony. *I lived by a bunch of museums that had artifacts that required temperature control, so during the day I would make it over there. The one museum had a small theater on the bottom floor that played it 20 minute video on a loop when I slept in the theater multiple times during that week. It wasn’t the easiest to get to because the trains weren’t running; on account of the heat and made the rails bend. So that was an expensive taxi, but it was worth it to get a little temperature control. If the museum idea and the sleeping outside idea don’t work for you, at least try to get your hands on one of those cooling dog beds. They’re not perfect, but they do help.
