500 Sheets Newsprint Paper 8.5 x 11in Plain Newsprint for Drawing Sketching Coloring, Drawing Paper Bulk for Kids Doodles

UPDATE: it was the paper. I bought this instead: https://amzn.to/43Wo4dG and it seems like it transfers MUCH better/faster than my old stuff. Tried eith the Amaco ink and dried Amaco velvet underglaze (no thickeners) with no appreciable difference. Only down side to this is the paper is pretty opaque to start with so it could be hard to align things on it. But at least the transfer works XD I did get some more bleed eith this than I normally do, but I think I just put on way too much water since im used to drowning my old transfers. And don’t use water with clay in it - seems to not make its way through the paper properly compared to clean.

ohhh thanks for the info!!!i also tried speedball once and it straight up didn't transfer at all lol. A few more questions if you don't mind: based on reading I've done on the silk screen medium, it seems like it's basically just cmc powder/cmc adjacent. Based on your working with it, it doesn't like... insta-cure the underglaze, right? It just thickens it and makes it more susceptible to getting *funky* if left out for a while? do you think there's a reason this paper or this paper wouldn't work? Apparently my local craft places don't have any newsprint paper that's not online ordering only -_-' Thanks again!! tbh I think the issue here is probably my existing paper being terrible (which is crazy because i got it because someone mentioned they used it for underglaze transfers 😛)
