Bastion by Phil Tucker. Well, that one, and the next three books in the series that released so far. It's not terribly dissimilar to the Cradle series by Will Wight if you've read that? (if not, I recommend that over the aforementioned series). As for a standalone book that I really enjoyed in 2025, I recommend Between two fires.
