all i can tell you is with my prescription (0.0 CYL right, ~-0.75 CYL left) that my quest 3 is clear (the left is a little blurry, but the right is perfect, and the monovision works well that my vision overall is clear), on my xreal air2 both eyes have some blur, this was very much a surprise to me as i had heard they were same sort of focal distance as quest 3.... if i look at things 2m away in my house then yes they are a bit blurry, things at 3m to 4m+ are clear - but remeber i don't have any accomodation - IOLs destroy the eyes ability to accommodate at all, so my vision is hard fixed at its focal lengths with no EDOF that the eye naturally provides now for others with exact same situation may say they see clearly closer than i do - this is driven by how well your brain can deblurr things, mine doesn't do that well (i think because i wore glasses since age 6 and never developed the neurons to do that) i think folks who have had not glasses and have had +/- 0.025 of CYL abberation build up capability to de-blurr in their brains (i know this from discussions with other IOL patients) thats the thing, vision is not just about optics - its about perception too (this was wild to me when i learnt this) i am also not a fan of the Snellen Eye chart test - it tests for one thing ONLY - how clearly you see some black letters, with spacing you never see on on real signs etc, are at 20ft - it doesn't test overall visual acuity at all IMHO - its just a approximation that works for some people, but not all - for example i am too good at telling what the letters are even when they are blurry..... how do i know all this matters - well when one can do ones own eye exam its amazing what one learns....https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CC8Y2D2Dhttps://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GB7VRL9 this allowed me to test many target refractive out comes for my LAL+ IOLs - these are unique monovision IOLs that allowed me to design my monovision and refractive target after my IOLs were implanted in me eye tl;dr all interesting academic info (perhaps), however my recommendation is to get a full eye test and talk with the doctor about different focal distances AND again it may be that you have a faulty unit as unlikely as that may be
