Looks great! But please know this is still too small for them, even with the extension you mentioned. Also, cleaning this cage with that door is probably not gonna be fun! Highly suggest looking on one for a used/new Critter Nation (or similar brand with 2 full doors) with a ramp and extra plastic shelf inside it. LIFE CHANGING in terms of cleaning and changing up the interior! Had ours for 7 years, still in great condition. Cage: https://a.co/d/0idBnbnk Critter Nations are the gold standard for Rats. Single units house 4 ratties, doubles house 8. u/_Grroll (sorry for the tag!) has an excellent guide about goodies to put into cages, but so long as bedding (namely kiln dried aspen or hemp), hammocks, huts, ropes, ladders, and cloth covering the plastic flooring works well. Avoid wheels though, unless the diameter is as least 16" across. Rats: They do better in groups, so after some time settling in, get two more rats, go through intros. If you need help sexing them feel free to ask, we can help! Feel free to read about !basics and !enclosure to get an idea on how to take care of the furbabies. Food-wise for now, Oxbow brand food pellets works well as the main food, and quite literally anything (including chocolate) is good as a secondary food source (or as a treat) for now. (Avoid salty foods and sugary foods though. Aloe and avacado skin/pits is very bad for them as well) If you have any other questions feel free to ask!
