I’ve attached the mouse trap I own here. Knock on wood I haven’t used them before. Bucket traps also work in a pinch. I just would not recommend the tiny little blue/green humane traps that are sold everywhere. They’re usually too small and have been known to catch tails in the door. Spoiler for graphic content- but if a mouse gets a tail or foot caught in a trap, it often ends with the mouse chewing them off to try and free themselves. I’ve never had female mice so can’t compare to them. I will say my first male smelled horrible. I thought people were exaggerating, but no it really was bad. My second mouse was still smelly but manageable. The mouse themselves smell fine, but their urine and then anything they pee on then smells atrocious. I can’t even describe the odor- maybe like stale cat pee is the best I can think of? Some people have said their male mice smelled fine, so your mileage may vary. I have tried every product and tip under the sun, and I found these Arm and Hammer Odor Absorbers and a decent air purifier to be the best options.
