1.4 turbo or 1.8? 1.8 could be intake runner arm?. 1.4 could be intermittent underboost from weak wastegate? Either could also be misfire code. Code readers are like $20 and work on every vehicle, not just your Sonic so definitely get one for all your future cars too. I bet this one will work. I bought one in 2020 and use it on a 2009 Prius. It gets past the main ECU to read everything with Dr. Prius. Should do likewise with other cars and other Android apps. https://a.co/d/0aRv2DqE

This one is good. It can communicate with everything in a car so it works on hybrids like Prius. 1995 is when the first OBD2 started. 2004 was the start of switching to CAN.
