Then both prophecies are easily explained and dismissed. I take the gospels to be works of fiction, so it is easy to 'fulfill' a prophecy by simply incorporating the prophecies into the fictional works that are written after the prophecies. When I was a fundamentalist Christian for many years, I took the bible as fact, as historical; now I understand that much of the bible is fiction, including stories involving Moses, Egyptian slavery and the Exodus, Daniel, and of course the Gospels. I recently read these two books, and also read some white papers by Richard Carrier, that set the case for the fictional nature of the story of Jesus.
