Neither. Heels and most Renaissance fairs are not a good idea (sticks and stones - you will break your bones). Sandals will make your feet icky plus...sticks and stones. You'll be much happier with socks and something like this Mary Jane which is pretty darn close to what was worn in the Renaissance as well.
