Yes, that's a gun. Generally something to shoot with is all you need. Well, also a holster. You can pocket mag the shit out of those stages. Next step would be a belt with a few magazine pouches....but a gun and a holster and an extra mag or two will get you started just fine. Have fun out there! I'm new and went with a Krydex IPSC belt+mag pouches with a Safariland holster I already had. I'm not sure I'd recommend it though. The belt is okay, but those mag pouches have a lot of adjustments and there aren't good instructions on which screws adjust what.
