It's 17lbs. I think it's surprisingly light for all the space it offers. It arrives in the travel bag, so you'll be able to see, right away, that it's perfectly portable. If you fly with it, it'll need to be checked. We use various small, thin, velour blankets to line it. The mattress sticks to the bottom with velcro. We put the blanket down & tuck the edges around & under the mattress. The velcro on the underside catches the blanket. It stays put.
