I'd recommend a hobbywing combo. Quicrun or ezrun would be fine. A lot cheaper than most castle combos. The quicrun may be your best bet for about $110. I'd recommend this. Plenty fast on 3s and if you need to slow it down a bit, 2s will work. Just keep in mind you will need a 5mm pinion gear with a 48 pitch at with how ever many teeth you will need. I forget what the stock stampede pinion and spur gear teeth count are. I think on the factory brushed stampede is a 16 tooth pinion (small gear on motor) and 90 tooth spur (big gear on transmission).

This quickrun setup has been good in my fury. You can also get the xc C10 with the hobbywing 3660 motor for about the same price but you won't need a program card
