Never been obese, but I have joint issues and heat tolerance problems thanks to a couple of genetic diseases, so I think we actually fall into the same boat on many walking issues, lol. Generally I'd recommend taking a lot of water with electrolytes (ex. Buoy, LMNT), sitting down for 2–5 minutes every 30 minutes or so (in order to reset your heart rate and calm your system), and getting compression sleeves for your knees on Amazon (link to mine), which will help with the pressure on your knees when you're walking. Given how hot it's going to get next week, I'd also recommend taking 1 or 2 cold packs with you to press/hold against your body as you walk (specifically your forehead, neck, underarms, and abdomen), to help keep your body temp a little lower. Then, if you're out for more than an hour at a time, you could circle back to your house and swap them out for fresh ones. Given how hot it's going to get, I wouldn't recommend going out without these.
