Could possibly use the steam method to form a ball. You make a cake pop. And instead of using icing to glue the cake pop together are going to use the heat from the cake. So right when the cake comes out of the oven you are to use a mixer to mix the cake. Then you are going to shape it or find a mold to help shape it. Then after it is set you can dip it in almond bark and color it whatever color you want. Dipping it in almond bark will be a lot easier than tempering chocolate or trying to frost. You are going to want to use an oil based food coloring. I personally use color mill. You can look up semispehere for baking. Or half circles for baking.
