I was expecting the Steam machine pricing to be closer to 900 dollar .. and even then it would have been more expensive. I seens both sides of the argument, Valve says they cant sell the Gabe cube at a loss like playstation or xbox because they don't have any subscription or exclusives .. but on the other end they get a cut on EVERY SINGLE GAME they have on the store. They could have done better ... Now i don't think comparing the prices of each console to their original launch date is "fair" simply because they all launched outside of the RAMargeddon window. I have a 256Gb on mine ... 2 things killed the Gabecube at launch: current market prices (thank you AI Bro's) and greed; they could have sold the machine at a small loss and recup it during the next steam sales. Also, Valve could have made a different move in my eyes, they could have added another option and sold the machine without RAM and NVME,,, i would say that some of us already have either RAM or NVME's they could have gotten from other machines we have laying around or even looked into the market for other deals. I guess i will be building my own cube now...
