I guess I'm a bit skeptical of the safety claims from locking in that I've never even heard anyone describe an accident of the type it purports to prevent. Would be nice to actually see some statistics on injuries or something to back up the idea that any change is seen in the real world, and that it is a greater effect than, for instance, simply using a 6" dado set and thus reducing both load on the saw and the rotational energy of the dado set. They also claim it cuts cleaner than a normal dado: that'd be worth it, but again I'd guess I'd want to scope a review to see if a 3rd party can detect it in the real world. I've been fairly happy with this dado set, though its main advantage over the most basic set is just that it has a 3/32 and 1/16 cutter which allows you to hit a lot more targets with less spacers.
