While soldering a great skill to pick up and you should keep honing your skills... If you're having that much trouble and just want to finish your project,, I'd just buy the LED connectors. Depending on the kind you get they'll either clamp or screw down to the LEDs then you j ust solder the actual wires connected to led connectors. It will save you a lot of hazzle.
