Hi. First of all I do not think ADF causes cold sores. But, I have had cold sores or what we called fever blisters a lot during my life. I tried all the remedies and used Abreva. Helped a little, but not much. I live in Arizona and the sun is/was a trigger for mine. Anyway , about 6 months ago I read an article about cold sores and Lysine. Then, I take 1000mg daily, unless I feel a cold sore coming on and I increase again to 3000mgs. About a month after I started taking Lysine, I had that tingle on my lips that usually meant I had a cold sore outbreak on the way. I started taking 3000mgs. I did get a tiny cold sore, but it healed super fast and did not crust at all. Since then, I have not had any breakouts at all and it has been hot here for several months. Try it!
