Had a roommate with a similar problem. They have these things on Amazon that automatically close the door when it’s open. They might be pissed off but if they want to carry the weight of causing the deaths of multiple animals that’s on them. Automatic Door Closer

This can kill fish, so anything you want to live needs to leave. You run it, leave, come in and quickly turn it off, leave (or have it so you can unplug it outside and not go in at all) it off for an hour or so, and done. It is great at killing germs and getting rid of odors. It won't do much for urine that sank into the wood but it'll help some...and you can close off that room and keep it running. Leave if you smell ozone elsewhere in the house!
