Hi Fearless. I think you should be able to get funding through Medicare or your developmental disability funding to get a proper helmet. Most real helmets made to prevent injury from self injury are more expensive than $50. I would worry that a cheap helmet won’t protect your head. A popular brand is Danmar and it comes in purple. Guardian Helmet is made specifically for autism head banging. RibCap is made to look like a normal hat. This one is under $50 but I don’t know if it will actually protect your head like a medical helmet would.
