Well, there is no best. Each has a separate philosophy, there's a lot of overlap, some will speak to you, some will seem like a good fit for you, some will seem too advanced, some might seem too beginner. Also I strongly suggest avoiding mixing together different pieces of different programs because you read something on Reddit or a friend recommended it. "I did Hal Higdon Novice 1, but I added a speed run in the middle of the week, and did the long run 30 seconds slower than recommended" means you didn't actually do Hal Higdon Novice 1, you did something else. Maybe it will work for you, maybe not. Higdon, Daniels, Pfitzinger are the classic authors. I also like Fitzgerald because I have a few of his triathlon training books. Hanson gets mentioned a lot too. Higdon’s book is more beginner to intermediate oriented but is very popular and well known and IMHO is a must read just to be familiar with his work. https://a.co/d/5634nAG and https://www.halhigdon.com/ Jack Daniels invented the VDOT system of training which includes the VDOT pacing formula. I’m a fan: https://a.co/d/1w0sYuk Fitzgerald’s 80/20 method has fans: https://a.co/d/9YFCbfL People like Hanson too, I’ve not read this: https://a.co/d/hrp1Ois
