Been there done that and what I bought off at Amazon were two five gallon bucket tops where mice fall in from a little ladder that goes up and I put peanut butter up at the top which attracts them. They get up to the top and then fall into the bucket before they get the peanut butter, inside the bucket I have dog food and a water bottle so that they're not eating each other or dying of thirst and hunger and at the end of each week I grab said buckets, pop a real lid on them and dump them food and all out at the nature area near work. I have one in the basement and one in the attic, and have a camera on each of them so I know if they've been used and HAVE to dump them, initially I used to just check it every Sunday evening but there were many times there was nothing in there it was more a pain in the ass to check the attic for nothing.
