I looked up your pistol Girsan MC1911 Gold Lux - EAA Corp. I've done gold prospecting in Alaska - it comes in different colors - white, rose, etc - and where I get it it's got a 7% platinum and 2% silver in it. Disclaimer: I may not be the best person to give this advice. You are talking to a 70+ year old guy who needs a woman to dress him... otherwise I would just live in Carhart shirts and jeans. 26 years military and I never had to worry about color coordination! Those brass grips - have allot of weight - they will make your gold plated gun feel like some of it is truly gold. You can use Mother's automotive mag wheel polish and a micron polishing cloth - polish until it matches your pistol then coat it with a tough clear lacquer sealant to keep it that way. If you want it 'over the top' mirror like then polish with this when you got it as good as Mothers can get it: SCOTTCHEN Diamond Polishing Paste,1,200 Grit 10-20 Microns Lapping Compound with 50% Concentration of Diamond Powders for Jewelry, Metal, Ring, Glass, Coin,etc.-5 Gram: Amazon.com: Industrial & Scientific If you bought those grips and could not get them to match well enough to suit your taste - you can gold plate them yourself at home using this: Plug N' Plate Gold Kit - Caswell Inc I have the gold kit but not used it yet. Below is a pic of what I did with the copper and brass kits. The scope is 1953 J C Higgins (Sears) steel tube and the copper trigger group shined up like the release screws for the detachable scope mount. The plating kits are fun! Keep in mind once you get it looking like you want - if it is something you expect to polish now and then - keep plating - give it a nice thick coating!!!!! Gold plates directly to brass. No issues. You could also have those brass grips easily engraved in the same pattern as the pistol or have custom scenery on them - sky and your imagination is the limit here - especially with so many places and people doing laser engraving at home.
