MSI Vector on Walmart is a 5070ti with 32gb of ram for $1599https://www.walmart.com/ip/MSI-VECTOR16HXA2-16-inch-Vector-AI-Gaming-Laptop-Intel-Core-Ultra-7-255HX-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-5070-Ti-32GB-1TB-C/16506964863

Lenovo has decent cooling - would recommend it a bit more than the Strix would recommend this config for $1600 instead (current price) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1883233-REG/lenovo_83f0001uus_15_1_legion_5i_gaming.html this is bulkier, but for a better GPU, go for a 5070 Ti option like this - MSI Vector 16" QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop, Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD (2026) - Walmart.com review (issue is with the FHD display having terrible QC + colour accuracy) -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IDtIy6rEmbc video about difference between 14900HX vs 285HX (285HX only has a small overclock over 275HX - also use captions) https://youtu.be/SEeboP8yrJI?si=P67Vt4I4fEBXM2by&t=396

If you're considering the Zephyrus G16 then your budget is clearly not $1400.

$1200 is a bit of no man's land. You can find 5060 laptops for the price, but the price/perf very often doesn't make a whole lot of sense against something like this. https://www.walmart.com/ip/MSI-Vector-16-HX-AI-16-Gaming-Laptop-Intel-Core-Ultra-7-255HX-NVIDIA-GeForce-RTX-5070-TI-12-GB-1TB-SSD-Windows-11-Pro-Vector-16-HX-AI-A2XWHG-285US/16506964863 Or you have to drop much lower to a 5050 laptop, and save some on the cost. TBH it still has most of the capabilities of a 5060, but it's also not as much of an upgrade, as a 5070ti. https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-TUF-Gaming-Laptop-165Hz/dp/B0FFDDFW47 (It was $839...) https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1954944-REG/lenovo_83jh008qus_17_3_loq_laptop_i5_13450hx.html Edit: https://www.notebookcheck.net/GeForce-RTX-5070-Ti-Laptop-vs-GeForce-RTX-5050-Laptop-vs-GeForce-GTX-1660-Ti-Mobile_12926_12923_9641.247598.0.html I'd use the top TGP Timespy graphics scores as a quick and dirty comparison between these options. Should give you a rough idea about their relative performance.

Did you see this one? $1599: MSI Vector 16 HX 255hx, 5070ti, 32gb, 1tb

Decent for the price with the current market. I would recommend looking at the Vector 16 at Walmart for $1600 bc of the performance uplift with the 5070 Ti and bc it still has 32GB of RAM MSI Vector 16" QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop, Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD (2026) - Walmart.com do your own research btw.

Vector 5070 Ti is available here at walmart again for $1600. JarrodsTech 5070 vs 5070 Ti - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_ilEkjmEO_s or, try and find a refurbished 4080, but that may be harder to find.

Dire_Straits_940 posted on r/gaminglaptops1w

you could get this vector instead for $1600 (5080 variant also available for $1900 but has only 16GB of RAM, but that can be upgraded later) I would recommend it based on the GPU/RAM (also the screen is decent bc it's not the FHD one. MSI Vector 16" QHD+ 240Hz Gaming Laptop, Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD (2026) - Walmart.com or go for this config if still available for $1300 Lenovo Legion 5i 16" Gaming Laptop - Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX - GeForce RTX 5060 - WQXGA (2560x1600) - Windows 11 Home - 32GB RAM - 1TB SSD | Costco or if you want a 5070, it's also available at B&H for $1479 https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1883233-REG/lenovo_83f0001uus_15_1_legion_5i_gaming.html review time: Legion 5i - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQOvHqDXX-8&t=50s&pp=ygUJbGVnaW9uIDVp MSI Vector ShortCircuit (LTT) - A gaming laptop for people with jobs - MSI Vector 16 HX AI JarrodsTech - Cheapest RTX 5070 Ti Gaming Laptop has a Problem - MSI Vector 16 Review (the problem is with the FHD version of the laptop having abysmal display quality, not this config)

I don't think that Legion 5i(which is really a Pro 5i with IPS display) is available anymore, but if you can find one for that price it's worth considering too, for that price. Not quite a 5070ti for gaming though. They are all rather chonky laptops mind you, and other than the TUF A18, mediocre battery life.
