I have changed my external antenna from the Eightwood antenna listed above to an omnidirectional outdoor antenna, and it's been much stronger. I think the Eightwood is much more "shaped" as a signal, and is as such very sensitive to orientation. The omni antenna seems more flexible with respect to placement and aiming. It's also smaller and less obtrusive when it's line-of-sight with the speakers.
