Yeah. The free patches aren't great. I don't use them at all. Instead I use these...https://a.co/d/003vnJQs Since I swapped to those, I have no gross arm gunk and have never lost a sensor. Just don't use the freebie patch at all, even with the new patches. Occasionally, the new patches will start coming off after a shower, but the sensor is protected with the plastic thingy. So, worst case you just use a new patch. Enjoy!
