I ran a small podcast where it's just me interviewing my friends and this setup has worked well for me. Macbook Pair of $40 Jabra headphones from Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F76MVLTZ?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_1 I "merge" the two headphones into one per channel using the MacOs MIDI tool (included with MacOs) https://www.youtube.com/watch?si=5MQLyRAUVQyHuRIq&v=zZWES6VGqkU&feature=youtu.be I use Audacity (free) https://www.audacityteam.org/download/mac/ give one headphone as the "left" channel and one as the "right" takes some config to get Audacity to split the audio for recording but it's a short checklist the channel per guest makes it easy to balance the audio in post production which is great b/c some guests are louder/quieter than me and even though the headphones are identical, the volume always seems slightly higher on one than the other I picked Spotify as the "source" of the podcast trivially easy to link Apple Podcasts and YouTube to the above btw I've told many people that it's easier to setup a podcast than send an email using modern platforms. My one guest worked as a professional interviewer for the NBA and he has repeatedly said how clear the audio is. You can hear for yourself here: https://alexpotato.com/podcast/
