A lot of great questions! I can give you a good option for number 3, the fence line. You can buy heavy duty plant stakes from Amazon in bulk for not very much money. Get a heavy mallet and pound them upright against the fence line maybe about 3-4 inches apart, depending on the size of the Turtle you’re getting or the rabbits that enter your yard. You don’t want them to be able to get stuck between them, but you want them blocked from entering or exiting. This worked really well for me. It’s a little labor intensive, but easier than a lot of other options and would keep drainage on that side. https://a.co/d/03FWGkjm (Amazon listing) As far as protection from above, it’s really a must IMO. Sadly, turtles fall prey to raccoons pretty often. It’s not worth the risk. It would be more work but maybe easy enough to pin mesh along the top and put some sort of baby gate along the front?
