NTA. You can get an appropriately sized portable AC for your room. If you’re paying I’m not sure I see what the issue is. I considered a portable for my daughter’s room in our new house. It gets so hot in the evenings during the summer regardless of what we set the central air to. Before spending multiple hundreds of dollars, we tried a fan to circulate the air from our central AC and it fixed all the problems.
