Been running this $15 laptop cooler for over 2 years. It on top of the receiver, has speed control dial, and I can’t hear anything sitting on sofa in the same room. It’s been running 24x7 for 2 years now.
If the idea is not to ensure long life and have the receiver not run hot - buy a $15 laptop cooler. It’s has a dial for speed control as well. I’ve been using it for 2 years on top of the receiver, it’s been running 24x7 non-stop and I can’t hear it sitting on the sofa. Additionally, when you use external amp, it does not turn off internal amp for those channels. The amps stay on albeit with no load and the heat generated is around 70% of what it used to be. However, if you want an improvement in sound quality, with higher power amp and increased headroom, that certainly is a benefit.
